ABOUT US

We are concerned Nebraskans who are fighting for an economy that works for us. We are tired of our representatives in Congress who are focused on helping the wealthy and well-connected rather than their constituents back home.

Instead of working to lower costs for everyday Nebraskans and protecting our hard-earned benefits, Congressman Don Bacon continues to prioritize big corporations and the ultra-wealthy.

Nebraska for Us is holding him accountable for his dangerous track record.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

  • Nebraskans deserve a representative in Congress who doesn’t turn their back on them by favoring corporations and the ultra-wealthy.

    Unfortunately, Rep. Don Bacon has:

    • Voted for the Trump tax cuts, which incentivized corporations to move jobs overseas and disproportionately benefited the wealthy

    • Voted against the Inflation Reduction Act and the Build Back Better Act, which cut taxes for working families and raised taxes on corporations and billionaires

    • Voted for $6 billion in tax breaks for corporations

    • Voted to protect wealthy and corporate tax cheats

    • Joined a group pushing for more huge tax breaks for the rich

    • Pushed the U.S. toward default and threatened an economic catastrophe, while protecting tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations

  • Nebraskans want to be able to afford a brighter future for their families. We deserve a representative in Congress who helps us earn more and pay less.

    Instead. Rep. Don Bacon has:

    • Voted against the COMPETES Act, which increased domestic manufacturing, bolstered the U.S. supply chain, and made the U.S. more economically competitive with China

    • Voted against raising the minimum wage at least three times

  • Thousands of Nebraskans rely on Social Security and Medicare to keep their families healthy and make ends meet. But Rep. Don Bacon wants to take these hard-earned benefits away.

    Rep. Bacon has:

    • Voted to cut Medicare funding

    • Frequently discussed the need to raise the retirement age, claiming as recently as last year that “We are going to have to be willing to revise that retirement age”

    • Voted for legislation that would lead to massive cuts to Social Security and Medicare and co-sponsored this legislation at least three times

    • Voted to make it harder for seniors to access the Social Security and Medicare benefits they earned

    • Said he opposed adding dental, vision, and hearing services for Medicare without recipients paying a premium for those services
