Nebraska For Us statement on cuts in federal funding for key programs

“From what Nebraska For Us can tell, everything from rental assistance, to WIC and home heating funds, along with TANF, Head Start, and Title I education funding could be in danger. These are programs that help working class Nebraskans, who are just fighting to get by, feed their kids and send them to school. This latest order throws so much of our lives into confusion and chaos.

“Congress appropriates funds, not the president. Congressman Don Bacon should do more than just wish these funding cuts away—he should stand up and take real action to fight for us. He must defend funding that was already approved and make good on his obligations to the taxpayers living in our district.”
